Introduction to Web and Web Application Server

  • Introduction to WebSphere Application Server
  • Application Deployment (Install, Update, Backup, Remove)
  • Application and Application Servers Operations (Start, Stop, Restart)

Day 2

  • Application and Application Servers Monitoring
  • Awareness of Log files
  •  Introduction to Web and Web Application Server
  • Introduction to WebSphere Application Server and its Family products
  • Introduction to WebSphere Application Server Architecture

Day 3

  • Introduction of WAS Profiles, DMGR, Cell, Node, Node agent, JVMs
  • Installation and Configuration of WebSphere Application Server
  • Application Deployment (Install, Update, Backup, Remove)

Day 4

  • Application and Application Servers Operations (Start, Stop, Restart)
  • Introduction to classes/shared libraries, scope, JDBC, Messaging, JVMs, Virtual hosts, Module Managements
  • Application and Application Servers Monitoring, View performance information about server and application components
  • Basic of problem determination and troubleshooting, Problem determination tools and log files to troubleshoot problems.

  • Identify and resolve the JVM-related, database connection and configuration, security configuration, Web services access, messaging problems

  • Determine application deployment problems
  • Fix application server start failures , installation, update, and migration problems
  • Configure WebSphere security using the LDAP user registry Secure an enterprise application using the Application Server Toolkit (AST) V6.1 Enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for the WebSphere Application Server

Day 9

  • Architecture Planning, Design, and Implementation
  • Advance configuration of Core Group, Node Group, DCS
  • High availability, performance testing and monitoring
  • Best practices for performance monitoring and tuning

Day 10

  • Identify key performance metrics and the categories of tools needed to successfully monitor and tune application and system performance
  • Utilize WebSphere Application Server’s performance monitoring and tuning technologies and tools
  • Define an effective performance monitoring and tuning strategy

Day 11

  • Understand WebSphere Workload Manager (WLM), failover, and HA Manager
  • Configuration of horizontal and vertical scaling
  • Configuration of load balancer and caching proxyStress-test all the different configurations

  • Configuring HA Manager policies and transaction log failover
