Job Summary:
The Platform Support Team Member / System Administrator will provide comprehensive technical support
and infrastructure management for the robotics company’s cloud and on-premises systems. This role
involves assisting field engineers, back-end teams, and the engineering team with technical support,
managing cloud servers, setting up production environments, and ensuring seamless operations using
DevOps practices. You will work on maintaining the cloud infrastructure, deploying OS and networking
configurations for production systems, and troubleshooting issues related to robotics software, hardware,
and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
● Serve as the primary technical support contact for field engineers, back-end teams, and the
engineering team by addressing and resolving issues related to software, hardware, and
infrastructure for robotic systems.
● Provide real-time troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to system performance,
connectivity, and software applications.
● Support field engineers with on-site deployments by ensuring proper configuration and
functionality of hardware and software components used in robotic systems.
Cloud Infrastructure Management (AWS):
● Manage and maintain the company’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, ensuring high
availability, performance, and security of cloud resources.
● Perform routine maintenance and updates of cloud servers, ensuring optimal performance and
uptime.
● Set up and configure cloud-based services, including EC2, S3, VPC, and RDS, to support
production and development environments for robotics platforms.
DevOps & Automation:
● Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment, testing, and
updates, ensuring smooth and efficient releases of robotic system applications.
● Use Docker for containerization of applications and environments to streamline development,
testing, and deployment workflows.
● Automate infrastructure setup, monitoring, and maintenance tasks using tools like Terraform,
Ansible, or custom shell scripts.
Linux & System Administration:
● Perform daily Linux administration tasks, including user management, system updates, security
patching, and performance monitoring for systems supporting robotic applications.
● Set up and configure Linux-based processors for production use, ensuring the correct
installation of the OS, required software, and networking configurations.
● Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks, improve system efficiency, and
reduce manual intervention for routine maintenance and operations.
Network Configuration & Management:
● Configure and manage network settings for production systems, ensuring secure and efficient
communication between on-premises hardware and cloud infrastructure.
● Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring that robotic systems have reliable access to
backend servers and cloud resources.
● Set up VPNs, firewalls, and secure network tunnels to facilitate communication between remote
field engineers, production environments, and cloud services.
Version Control & Collaboration:
● Manage version control using Git and GitHub, collaborating with the development and
engineering teams to ensure consistent workflows and proper source code management.
● Implement and enforce best practices for version control, branching strategies, and code
deployments across the engineering and development teams.
System Monitoring & Maintenance:
● Set up and monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization using monitoring tools
like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or other monitoring solutions.
● Perform regular maintenance and backups of cloud and on-prem systems to prevent data loss
and ensure business continuity.
● Identify system issues and resolve them proactively to avoid potential outages or performance
degradation.
Processor & OS Setup for Production:
● Set up processors with Linux-based operating systems for production environments, ensuring
proper configuration and readiness for robotic applications.
● Work with the engineering team to ensure processors are configured with the correct software,
network settings, and security protocols before deployment.
Collaboration with Engineering & Development Teams:
● Collaborate closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, and the development team
to ensure that all infrastructure and systems meet the operational requirements for robotic
deployments.
● Provide feedback and suggestions to the engineering team regarding system improvements,
automation opportunities, and potential areas of technical enhancement.
Key Requirements:
Technical Skills:
● Amazon Web Services (AWS): Proficient in managing cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC,
Lambda) to support production and development environments.
